Jim Jarmusch 'Coffee and Cigarettes': Cappuccino

 I made cappuccino without my coffee machine and it was surprisingly easy.

Basic skills

1. How to make espresso
Actually, 'espresso' means 'pressed', so without a machine you'll have just regular coffee. But you can make it with a thick scum if you have enough patience.
Take 1,5tsp of mild coffee, add a cup of ice-cold water and put it in a coffee pot on a small fire. Your cup must be warm so it's better to add there some boiling water now. After about 10mins on the coffee's surface you'll see light-brown scum. Take it off with a spoon and put it in the cup (without water of course). Stir the coffee and wait for a new scum. Repeat these directions (take-put-stir) until coffee starts to rise, take the pot from fire and pour it to the cup. Very important: coffee mustn't bubble! It just needs to rise up.

2. How to make foam.
Put some milk on medium fire and find a jar. When the milk is just about to bubble, pour it into the jar (just to middle point), lid it, and energetically shake it for 2-5mins (depends on milk fatness, 2.5% preferable). It can be very hot, be careful.

Types
  • Americano: a shot of espresso + a cup of hot water. Nuf hard.
  • Cappuccino: 1/3cup of espresso + 1/3cup of hot milk + 1/3 cup of foam. (coffee – arabica 90% + robusta 10%). If you want authentic cappuccino never put cinnamon. Vanilla or grated chocolate only. 
  • Latte: 1/4cup of espresso + 3/4cup of hot milk mixed with foam. (any coffee you like)
  • Mocca: 1/3cup of espresso + 1/3cup of hot chocolate + 1/3cup of hot milk (arabica 100%)
  • Macchiato: 1/2cup of espresso + 1/2 of foam (coffee – arabica 100%)
